She has also presented her work both nationally and internationally. Montgomery has presented on topics such as leadership, success, and nursing ethics. Having experience with chronic and acute patients, Montgomery brings a flavor of clinical inquiry combined with understandings of innovations of research into her work and presentations. Montgomery serves as a critical-care nurse at UAB Hospital and as adjunct faculty at the UAB School of Nursing.

“This award will mean that I have been recognized for the good works I accomplished as a bedside nurse. I believe that being recognized with this award will make a significant difference in the number of job opportunities I will have. I am humbled by the spirit in which it will be given, and recognition for my work at one conference would be great but recognition at two is enormous. It is clearly a wonderful opportunity.”
