Archon Award

Sponsored by University of Delaware School of Nursing and Beta Xi Chapter

The Archon award—from the Greek word meaning “first to lead“—celebrates its 15th Anniversary and is bestowed biennally by the society to individuals who have shown exceptional leadership in advancing health and welfare throughout the world. Previous recipients include Bill Moyers, Judith Davidson Moyers, His Highness the Aga Khan, Dr. Jonas Salk, Sir George Alleyne, Mrs. Elizabeth Dole, Dame Cicely Saunders, Dr. C. Everett Koop, Congresswoman Lois Capps, Barbara Dossey, Larry Dossey, James T. Lenehan, Dr. David Satcher, Leslie Mancuso and James Morris.
