Chapter Key Award Recipients are recognized at each Biennial Convention. The Chapter Key Award, established in 1991, honors chapters who excel in chapter-related activities such as:

membership recruitment and retention
publicity and programming
professional and leadership development
local, national and international collaboration

2011 Chapter Key Awards
Chapters are encouraged to work throughout the biennium to prepare their entries.

Eligibility

In order to apply for the 2011 Chapter Key Award, which recognizes chapter activity for the timeframe between 1 July 2009 and 30 June 2011, chapters must be in good standing and have met chapter responsibilities as outlined in our bylaws.

According to Article IV, Section 8 of the International Bylaws, a chapter’s responsibilities include:

Supporting the purposes of the STTI
Observing the provisions of the bylaws and complying with STTI's policies and regulations
Participating in the biennial convention House of Delegates and other business brought forth before the House of Delegates during the term
(This includes the electronic voting by delegates throughout the year. Note: In addition to the in-person vote at the November 2009 House of Delegates, electronic votes will occur in March and October 2010.)
Selecting and inducting eligible members a minimum of one time annually
Meeting all financial obligations
(This includes cashing chapter checks as they are issued to the chapter by headquarters.)
File required reports according to established guidelines.
(This includes the on-time submission of the 2010 Chapter Annual Report - Deadline is 2 August 2010. Note: the 2009 Chapter Annual Report submission is not taken into account.)

2011 Submission Timeframe

1 November 2010 - 15 July 2011 View instructions

Although the actual submission process will not be available until 1 November 2010, the Chapter Key Award form is available for download now to track points for the chapter. All nominators for the Chapter Key Award are required to download and complete the Chapter Key Award Form (Excel spreadsheet). Please note, without this form, the nomination will be considered incomplete and will not be reviewed. All submissions are made online. The Chapter Key Award form is the only supporting material required for a Chapter Key Award nomination. Chapters may upload other documentation to support answers in the Chapter Key Award form.

Please note the downloadable Excel spreadsheet is password protected. Chapters will only be able to enter information into the allowed fields. To download the required Chapter Key Award Form, simply right-click on the "Chapter Key Award form" link and then select "Save as" or "Save Target as" and then save the file to your computer. We recommend saving the file with the name "chaptername_cka2011.xls"
