Dr. Melnyk is currently associate vice president for health promotion, university chief wellness officer, professor and dean of the College of Nursing, and professor of pediatrics and psychiatry in the College of Medicine at The Ohio State University. She is a nationally and internationally recognized leader in evidence-based practice, intervention research, and child/adolescent mental health. Dr. Melnyk has consulted hundreds of health care systems and colleges throughout the United States and around the globe and has led several national and international initiatives to improve health care and population health initiatives. Her record includes securing more than US $19 million of sponsored funding from federal agencies as principal investigator and more than 210 publications. Dr. Melnyk is co-editor of four books and the editor of Worldviews on Evidence-Based Nursing. She recently served as one of only two nurse practitioners on the United States Preventive Services Task Force and currently serves on the National Institutes of Health’s National Advisory Council for Nursing Research.
