Julia Stocker Schneider is an associate professor in the McAuley School of Nursing at the University of Detroit Mercy. She coordinates and teaches in the master’s in nursing program in Health Systems Management. Her scholarship focuses on nursing-sensitive outcomes measurement, home health care outcomes, nursing informatics, and quality improvement in nursing.
Violet Barkauskas is an associate professor at the University of Michigan School of Nursing. She has extensive teaching experience with nursing graduate students in community health nursing. Her scholarly work has focused on the roles of and interventions provided by community-based nursing practitioners and the effectiveness of their practice, and the development of innovative graduate programs for community-based practice.
Gail Keenan is an associate professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Her research focuses on developing and refining a feasible automated methodology for collecting a standardized clinical data set for the purpose of improving the planning, delivery, cost and health outcomes of nursing care across the continuum. Her work has led to the development of the Hands-on Automated Nursing Data System (HANDS) as a standard method for care planning and communication in the electronic health record. She teaches and mentors graduate students in nursing informatics and serves as an expert in this specialty area nationally.
