Bonnie L. Wesorick, MSN, RN, FAAN
Founder and Chairman Emeritus, Clinical Practice Model Resource Center
Kappa Epsilon-at-Large Chapter #243
Grand Rapids, Mich., USA
Bonnie is the Founder and Chairman Emeritus of the Clinical Practice Model Resource Center (CPMRC), a business Unit of Elsevier, and the Founder of the CPMRC International Consortium. She founded the CPM Resource Center whose mission to co-create and sustain the best places to practice and the best places to receive care has brought healthcare providers together from across the continent. For almost three decades she has partnered with thousands of nurses and interdisciplinary practitioners to create healthy, healing practice cultures and a patient centered, integrated health care system to assure safety and quality for both those who give and receive care. She created an International Consortium which has expanded today to almost 300 rural, community, and university clinical settings that collectively carry out the work necessary to transform culture and practice at the point of care within a learning community. The nexus of her work is the development and implementation of the CPM Professional Practice Framework that guides point-of-care transformation leading to healthy healing cultures and an evidence-based, interdisciplinary, integrated system that has revolutionized practice and automation within and beyond the International Consortium. Bonnie led the first Practice-Technology Partnerships by partnering with healthcare technology companies. These unprecedented and entrepreneurial partnerships have brought to the healthcare arena the first automated, preconfigured, evidence-based interdisciplinary documentation system. The pre-configured system brings executable knowledge to the fingertips of the clinicians to assure best practices and is intentionally designed to prevent potential complications, stop duplication, repetition, omission, commission and errors. The result is real time clinical decision support that creates positive and sustainable clinical, operational, and financial outcomes. Bonnie has shared her expertise and learned from the expertise of others from over 1,000 diverse clinical settings and professional organizations both within and beyond the healthcare arena. She is an internationally known speaker, storyteller, author, and healthcare futurist who has authored many books, articles, videos, CD's and DVD’s. Bonnie has been elected as a Distinguished Practitioner in the National Academies of Practice and is a Fellow in the American Academy of Nursing. She is often a keynote or featured speaker at local, state, national and international conferences across the world. Bonnie connects with the hearts and minds of others and brings a sense of direction and hope in the midst of chaos in today's healthcare arena. Bonnie resides in western Michigan.
