Dr. Cheryl Taylor is a professor of nursing science at Southern University Baton Rouge, La., and National League for Nursing consultant to National Student Nurses Association for 2009-2011. Dr. Taylor is an African-American public health leader, mentor, scholar, health policy advocate, researcher and destination coach. She teaches PhD level research and health policy courses and mentors nursing and health professions students from all levels to improve their capacity for leadership in promoting health equity. Dr. Taylor earned her bachelor’s of science in nursing from Dillard University of New Orleans; her master’s in systems oriented community mental health nursing from the University of Washington at Seattle; and her PhD in nursing from Texas Woman’s University.
