Dr. Diane J. Skiba is Professor and Coordinator of Healthcare Informatics at the University of Colorado Denver. Dr. Skiba is a honorary member of the Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International, honorary fellow of the American Academy of Nursing and an elected fellow of the American College of Medical Informatics. Since 1980, she has dedicated her career to the development of nursing informatics specialists. She is a leader who works nationally and internationally to ensure that all nurses have the necessary knowledge and skills to practice in a technology-rich health care environment. She is a member of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services National Advisory Council on Nursing Education and Practice.
