Maggie Kirk (United Kingdom), PhD, BSc(Hons), DipN, RGN, Kathleen Calzone (Maryland, USA), PhD, RN, APNG, FAAN, Naoko Arimori (Japan), PhD, RN, RMW, PHN, and Emma Tonkin (United Kingdom), PhD, BSc(Hons)

Maggie Kirk, Kathleen Calzone, Naoko Arimori, and Emma Tonkin are members of the International Society of Nurses in Genetics (ISONG): a global nursing specialty organization dedicated to fostering the scientific and professional growth of nurses in human genetics and genomics worldwide. One of ISONG’s goals is to promote the development of standards of practice for nurses in genetics and genomics. The four authors worked collaboratively across three continents to produce their paper “Genetics/Genomics Competencies and Nursing Regulation” to contribute to that goal. The Best of Journal of Nursing Scholarship award helps further raise the profile of the authors’ work.
