Her Royal Highness Princess Muna Al Hussein, Jordan
Her Royal Highness Princess Muna Al Hussein is the mother of His Majesty King Abdullah the Second of Jordan. Princess Muna married Late King Hussein Bin Talal in 1961. They had four children: King Abdullah II; His Royal Highness Prince Feisal and Their Royal Highnesses twin Princesses Zein and Aisha. Princess Muna has 12 grandchildren. She helped found Princess Muna College for Nursing in 1962, which is now the School of Nursing of Mu'tah University. Princess Muna led a nurse leaders' initiative in advocating for the foundation of an independent nursing council, a legislative body that aims at nursing regulation in the country. The Jordanian Nursing Council was established in 2002 by the Royal Decree of His Majesty King Abdullah II. Princess Muna was appointed as president of the council, which has reformed nursing in the country and established strong ties with prominent nursing and health institutions.
