Marie-Louise Luiking, MA, RN
Nurse practitioner, PhD candidate, St Antonius Hospital
Nieuwegein, The Netherlands
Rho Chi-at-Large Chapter

Marie-Louise Luiking’s research focuses on implementation of new nursing procedures, especially in the intensive care environment. New procedures have to be research/best-practice-based and made specifically suitable for the end users in their work situation. ICU nurses’ use of delirium screening guidelines, the a stepwise research-based program, was developed to come from a foreign language instrument to a procedure which is shown to be effective. Her present doctoral research focuses further on the professionalization of the ICU nurses in the Netherlands.
