Dr. Bugel graduated from Seton Hall University College of Nursing with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree (1973) and from New York University with a Master of Arts in Nursing degree (1978). She was the first graduate of the Seton Hall University Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing Research (2011) program. Her areas of specialization are pediatric rehabilitation and clinical leadership. Dr. Bugel is assistant professor and director of graduate adjunct faculty development at Rutgers School of Nursing and is coordinator of the Master of Science in Nursing Clinical Leadership program and a member of the University Senate. She is on the Board of Commissioners of the Commission on Nurse Certification (CNC). Her research with traumatically injured children’s siblings has been presented nationally and will appear in Pediatric Nursing (March 2014). Currently, Dr. Bugel is working on a study regarding siblings in the years following the traumatic crisis. She is certified as a nurse educator and a clinical nurse leader.
