Mary E. Lough, RN, MS, PhD(c) was awarded the STTI 2009 Clinical Scholarship Award for her commitment to the dissemination of evidence-based practice in the intensive care unit (ICU). Ms. Lough is the critical care clinical nurse specialist at Stanford Hospital and Clinics, Palo Alto, Calif., and also a doctoral student in the School of Nursing at the University of California at San Francisco (UCSF).  She has co-authored and written chapters for two evidence-based critical care textbooks that are used in many nursing schools in the United States, and some editions have been translated into Spanish and Portuguese.
