We are actively searching for an experienced clinical nurse researcher to forward integration of research into nursing at the Arnold Palmer Medical Center, which is comprised of the Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children and the Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Babies. This role includes coaching and mentorship of research skills to all levels of nursing. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Nursing for the organization.
- Forwarding the overall mission and goals of ORH and the Nursing Executive Council and Centers of Excellence, where applicable-
- Furthering development of an active clinical nursing research program
- Provides administrative oversight of the clinical nursing research program in accordance to Federal and ORH Institutional Review Board Standards
- Active involvement with the Nursing Research Council to promote active nursing engagement with research
- Mentorship of advanced practice and front line nursing staff in the conduct of nursing research and integration of evidence and guidelines into practice at the unit and hospital level that is relevant to their respective populations and core measures of quality
- Directs research and evidence based care
- Oversees the development and/ or dissemination of evidence-based practice initiatives and pertinent research findings within defined populations and recommends changes in nursing practice to the nursing team
- Conducting research studies relevant to acute care clinical practice including patient outcomes, direct practice, performance improvement, and practice environment
- Collaborate with research efforts within the corporation and academic resources
- Active contribution to building the science of Nursing.
- Eligible for licensure within the state of Florida as an RN
- PhD or equivalent doctorate level in nursing or related specialty (DNS, ND)
- 2 years of post doctoral acute care clinical research experience
- Competent in research proposal development and submission to institutional review boards and research committees for approval
- Strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills at all levels of nursing
- Experience with presenting research findings and abstracts to professional organizations and reporting within the hospital
- Experience in the use of statistical analysis, spreadsheets and databases
- Skilled at leading organizational efforts for research integration at all levels of nursing
- Experience and attainment of grant funding to support research efforts
- Leading research committees and/or service on an IRB
- Experience in magnet certification efforts within an organization
- Experience with a nursing shared governance model
- Experience in pediatrics, OB, or NICU population
