Texas Health Resources (THR) is initiating a national search for the position of Director of Clinical Academic Education Programs located in Arlington, Texas. THR is headquartered in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, and is one of the largest faith-based, nonprofit health care delivery systems in the United States. THR has 13 acute-care hospitals with approximately 2,600 licensed hospital beds, employs more than 18,000 people and counts 3,600 physicians with active staff privileges at its hospitals. Also included are one home health agency, one extended care hospital and a 500 resident retirement community.
The Director of Clinical Academic Education Programs will oversee and direct the daily operations and long-term strategic initiatives (including the financial management, program evaluation, process improvement, and staff supervision) of operations and initiatives of The Center for Learning’s academic education programs. The incumbent will provide direction in the development and management of Associates, Bachelors and Masters nursing programs offered at THR facilities in conjunction with local degree granting institutions, ensuring compliance with the required state and national nursing and educational regulations. Additionally, the Director will work with various system wide strategic iniatives that relate to the planning and development along with design, implemention, evaluation that leade to the advancement of system wide clinical and academic education in order to acheive system clinical excellence.
Qualifying candidates will have:
· Masters of Science in Nursing required; PhD in Nursing or Education preferred.
· Must be licensed or eligible for license by the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners.
· Certification in Nursing Education by the National League for Nursing Desired.
· Minimum of five to ten years nursing experience with three years experience in a management or leadership role required.
· Additionally a minimum of 2 years experience in an Academic setting as faculty required.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work with diverse work groups/teams required.
