Director of Surgical Services
Kennewick General Hospital
Kennewick, Washington

The Position 

  • Responsible for the strategic direction and overall operation of the surgical services product line including the OR, PACU, pre-op and sterile processing
  • Reports to the Chief Nursing Officer and provides leadership for approximately 40 FTEs, including a charge nurse who reports directly to this position
  • Qualified candidates will be registered nurses with a minimum of three years of progressive leadership experience in surgical services
  • Ideal individuals will be able to successfully function as a change agent with demonstrated follow-through and the ability to mentor and develop staff, while maintaining a fair, firm, and consistent approach to the team
  • A demonstrated track record of service line development and growth, as well as construction experience will be important for the successful candidate
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; individuals interested in stepping up to a director-level leadership role are highly encouraged to apply

The Hospital

  • 101-bed, Joint Commission accredited, acute-care, public district hospital
  • Provides an array of services including general medical and surgical care, general intensive care, cardiology, pediatric medical and surgical care, obstetrics, emergency, and trauma
  • Due to its impressive growth, the organization will soon be building a new $133 million replacement facility
  • Involved in joint ventures for the Tri-Cities Cancer Center, Tri-Cities Heart Care, and the Tri-Cities Kidney Center
