DESCRIPTION
The National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) is the national association for regulatory agencies for nursing. NCSBN assists and supports boards of nursing to act together on matters of common interest and concern affecting public health, safety, and regulation. This includes the development of national nurse licensing examinations. Currently we are seeking an RN Associate for Nursing Regulation.
This Position provides project management support and continued development of programs and committees as it relates to nursing regulation initiatives. Evaluates projects on an ongoing basis for improvement, sustainability or closure. Makes recommendations as needed. Manages the continued development and operations of the Institute of Regulatory Excellence Committee (IRE) and works with the committee to achieve objectives and success of projects. Disseminates information and facilitates communication to Member Boards through conferences, memos, reports, Web content, and other methods. Communicates with Nursing Regulation staff and project team members, while keeping supervisor informed of progress, potential problems, and other relevant information. Participates in Nursing Regulation team projects and provides assistance to stakeholders. Assists in developing budgets for projects and initiatives. Serves as staff contact to the Leadership Succession Committee. Provides assistance with research projects including data analyses and collection as required. Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
RN, with PhD, EdD or JD in nursing with five years clinical nursing and/or regulation experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience. Experience in program development, project management, research, and education. APRN certification desirable. Strong leadership, organizational, customer service, and problem solving skills required. Ability to work on multiple assignments in a team-based environment emphasizing flexibility in activities. Excellent written and verbal communications skills with the ability to present research plans and findings. Survey research or measurement experience desired with an inventive approach to problem solving. Excellent computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office. Direct application experience working with SAS programming used to manipulate, summarize, and produce reports from multiple, large, complex data sets preferred. Ability to be an advocate for NCSBN’s mission and vision. General knowledge of and interest in nursing policy issues.
