Chapter Leader Checklist and Calendar
2011-2013 Biennium

This calendar gives chapter leaders an overview of Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI) chapter deadlines, events and items of interest through the end of the 2011-2013 biennium. Please read through the upcoming months to find deadlines important for your chapter, and information you can share with your membership.

2012

May

1 May - Register for free chapter training webcasts in May
1 May - Deadline for the STTI/American Nurses' Foundation Grant
1 May - Check the Chapter Directory to ensure chapter contact is correct
1 May - Registration is open for the STTI Leadership Forum. This three-day forum encompasses two separate events. The first, 20-21 September, will focus on nursing leadership sessions. The second, 21-22 September, provides chapter training. Members may attend the entire three-day forum, or select one of the two-day events.
6-12 May - Nurses Week
12 May - International Nurses Day
15 May - Reminder: Chapter Annual Report due 3 August
16 May - Standard registration deadline for Nursing Education Research Conference
20 May - Is your chapter budget for the upcoming fiscal year complete? Find chapter finance resources
20-25 May - Submit chapter news for STTIconnect
23 May - Early registration deadline for the 23rd International Nursing Research Congress
25 May - Have you had a recent induction? Remember to update chapter leaders in the Officer and Committee Chair Report and check your contact in the Online Chapter Directory. You may also find great resources to help you transition your chapter leaders.
30 May - Deadline to submit a poster of chapter best-practices for the Leadership Forum
31 May - Ensure the chapter has downloaded and adopted the 2011-2013 chapter bylaws

1 June - Register for a free chapter training webcast in June
1 June - Grant application deadline for two STTI grants
15-16 June - Nursing Education Research Conference in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA.
20-25 June - Submit chapter news for STTIconnect
27 June - Standard registration deadline for the 23rd International Nursing Research Congress
30 June - End 2012 chapter/STTI fiscal year

July

1 July - Register for a free chapter training webcast in July
1 July - Begin 2013 chapter/STTI fiscal year
1 July - Grant application deadline for seven international grants
20-25 July - Submit chapter news for STTIconnect
18 July - Early registration deadline for the STTI Leadership Forum.
30 July - Update/verify electronic delegates for the August/September electronic House of Delegates forum and vote. Updates can be made via the Chapter Management System
30 July-3 August - 23rd International Nursing Research Congress in Brisbane, Australia

August

3 August - Chapter Annual Report due
3 August - Deadline to submit updated chapter bylaws
20-25 August - Submit chapter news for STTIconnect
22 August - Last day to register online for the STTI Leadership Forum and reserve a hotel room.

September

1 September - Participate in the electronic House of Delegates discussion vote for petitioning honor societies

15 September - Check your mailbox for the September issue of Chapter Leader Emphasis

20-22 September - STTI Leadership Forum.

20-25 September - Submit chapter news for STTIconnect

October

1 October - Participate in the October Creating Connections Membership Drive
1 October - Grant application deadline for several STTI grants
5 October - STTI's Founder's Day
20-25 October - Submit chapter news for STTIconnect

November

1 November - Chapter Key Award opens for submissions
1 November - The International Awards for Nursing Excellence open for submissions
15 November - Submit Form 990 to IRS (US Chapters Only)
20-25 November - Submit chapter news for STTIconnect
30 November - Update/verify chapter delegates for the February/March 2013 electronic House of Delegates forum and vote. Updates can be made via the Chapter Management System

December

1 December - Schedule one-on-one chapter training webcast with STTI staff at chapserv@stti.iupui.edu. Topics can be on any areas the chapter needs additional guidance or training
1 December - Deadline for several international nursing research grants
20-25 December - Submit chapter news for STTIconnect

2013

January

1 January - Verify chapter fees and submit changes via the Chapter Management System by
15 March
20-25 January - Submit chapter news for STTIconnect
30 January - Identify delegates who will attend the 42nd Biennial Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA

February

20-25 February - Submit chapter news for STTIconnect
28 February - Submit changes to chapter fees via the Chapter Management System. Verification of Fee form accessible online until 15 March

March

1 March - Participate in the March Creating Connections Membership Drive
15 March - Submit changes to chapter fees via the Chapter Managment System
