Creating Connections: Chapter Membership Drive

Sometimes all you have to do is ask! Every chapter has a group of members that has not renewed over the years. Some members may have forgotten to renew, while others may have been waiting for more information on what benefits are available. Whatever the reason, now is the time for your chapter to reach out and re-connect with these members.

While chapters are encouraged to participate in the Creating Connections: Chapter Membership Drive at any time during the year, the honor society's official drives will be in October 2008 and March 2009. Chapters participating during these months will be included in official results and recognition.

To participate, chapters should... 

1. Pick a Day

• Instructions for Chapters
• Instructions for Callers
• E-mail template to recruit volunteers
• E-mail announcement of Connect-a-thon

2. Recruit Some Volunteers

• Phone script
• Membership benefits
• Online renewal form

3. Make Some Phone Calls

• E-mail template - unreachable by phone
• E-mail template - reminder to renew
• E-mail template - thank you for renewing
• Follow-up Postcard - Check with your local post office for required postage amount and remember to include your chapter’s return address.
