Edith Anderson Membership Subsidy Fund Chapter Program
Chapters and members of the Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International have a proud history of assisting worthy individuals in need with their induction and membership fees. This investment provides future leaders with access to the knowledge, services and associations offered by the honor society. However, resources of chapters and members are sometimes not sufficient to meet the demand. Request for Assistance Form.
Therefore, the Edith Anderson Membership Subsidy Fund will be used by STTI to underwrite up to 75 percent of the annual STTI membership fees of those requiring financial assistance. The stipends will be furnished on a confidential basis.
Chapters are strongly encouraged to assist worthy prospective or current members before submitting applications to STTI. A maximum of US $5,000 will be allocated to the program each year, and no more than 5 members of a chapter or an at-Large chapter may benefit from the initiative. Policies governing the subsidies are completely at the discretion of Sigma Theta Tau International Foundation for Nursing Board of Directors.
Beneficiaries of this program may include but are not limited to:
* Undergraduate and graduate students invited to join STTI who attest that they do not have the means to pay their international/chapter induction or membership fees in their entirety. (This does not include charges for induction dinners, membership keys, honor cords or other non-dues assessments.)
* New or existing STTI members residing outside of the United States in countries designated as middle or low-income by the World Bank who find it difficult if not impossible to fulfill their membership obligations.
* Members undergoing temporary financial hardships who require assistance in order to continue their active membership.
All subsidy recipients are encouraged to contribute to the Edith Anderson Membership Subsidy Fund, through the Sigma Theta Tau International Foundation for Nursing, when their circumstances allow.
