- 15 March 2010: Xi Chi is conducting the 2010 annual campaign to recruit new members and community leaders for our chapter. Please nominate a community leader by referring to the Sigma Theta Tau International Web site: www.nursingsociety.org or check out the Xi Chi Web site at www.millersville.edu/xichi for nomination forms and requirements. All applications should be forwarded to Deborah Castellucci at deborah.castellucci@millersville.edu. Please forward your nominations by March 15, 2010.
- 23 March 2010: On Tuesday, March 23, 2010 a collaborative meeting with the Eta Eta Chapter of York will be held at the Student Memorial Academic Center on the Millersville University Campus. The program is entitled “Bringing EBP to the Bedside”. We will be meeting in Room #161. A reception will begin at 6:00 p.m.. The program will start at 7:00 p.m. Valarie Smeltzer from York will speak on her study Transfusion Related Acute Lung Injury. Staff members from Lancaster General and Hershey Medical Center will be represented as well. Free CEU’s will be provided for this event.
- 19 April 2010: Xi Chi will hold the 2010 Induction Dinner at Gordinier Hall, Millersville University. A hour orientation for new members will begin at 1730. The dinner and program will begin at 1830. Anne Muller, Region 12 Coordinator, will be the guest speaker. Please come and support our new members to the chapter.
- 20 April 2010: Collaborative Nursing Network of Northeastern Pennsylvania presents: Advanced Concepts in Diabetes Management. RSVP by 9 April 2010.
- 25 April 2010: 2010 is the “International Year of the Nurse”. Nurses from around the world are being recognized for their unique contributions to maintain the health and care of the sick around the world. Sigma Theta Tau, International is a part of that achievement. An ecumenical church series will be held at the Washington National Cathedral on Sunday, April 25, 2010.
- 29 April 2010: EBP and Nursing Research: The Heart of the Matter, 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Country Club of York. Call for Abstracts due 1 Feb 2010.
- 5 June 2010: Xi Chi June Membership Meeting will be held at the Stayer Education Center, Millersville University for a morning breakfast meeting. Our guest speaker will be Priscilla Simons. She will speak on “Nursing Past, Present, and Future.” More information will be provided for this event.
- 17 October 2010: Xi Chi members will network and meet the leaders of STTI. The first will be the Region 12 Trisortium scheduled for Sunday, October 17, 2010. The speaker for the event will be Dr. Karin Morin, our newly elected STTI president.
- 21 October 2010: Annual Distinguished Lectureship. More information will be available in future announcements.
