Webcasts for Groups Pursuing Chapter Charter Status

Sessions for Groups Starting A Brand New Chapter
Join us for regularly-scheduled training sessions developed specifically for developing honor societies. Click the appropriate registration link to register for the training session you would like to attend.

Sessions are open to any steering committee member or developing honor society officer of a group that is pursuing official chapter status.  The recommended order of webcasts and adjoining tasks are outlines below. 

 

For groups in Phase 2 of Development  

Consultation with STTI Staff

It is recommended to consult with staff at least once every quarter throughout your process.  Have topics of discussion and a progress report ready prior to submitting a request.  Press the purple button below to schedule.

Recommended board members to attend: depending on subject matter discussed.  For general consultation we suggest the President and Counselor.

 

Board of Directors Orientation

The following trainings are recommended for the elected board members and individuals interested in pursuing these roles in the future.  It is recommended to view the below orientations after reviewing the position description.

The President, Counselor and Leadership Succession Committee Chair is recommended to review all orientations listed.

 

Expectations of Developing Honor Societies & Chapters

In this 30-60 minute presentation, you will be introduced to the Sustainability Pyramid and how its implementation will help you meet the requirements and expectations for ultimately becoming a chapter of STTI. It is recommended to review the webcast after appointing the Board of Directors.

STTI Bylaws 101

Learn to interpret STTI’s bylaws and utilize them appropriately for your developing honor society. This 60 minute webinar will help ensure you are on track to be a healthy STTI chapter.  It is recommended to review the webcast prior to beginning the Adopt STTI honor society bylaws template task.

Recommended board members to attend: President, President-elect (optional), Vice President, Counselor and Governance Committee Chair 

 

Understanding STTI's Membership Eligibility Criteria

During this 60 minute presentation, you will learn the membership eligibility requirements for nursing students and professional nurse leaders and how to determine policies and procedures for utilizing the criteria based on the nursing programs your offer at your institution.  It is recommended to review the webcast prior to beginning the Determine policies and procedures for utilizing STTI's membership eligibility requirements task.

Budgeting: Where to Start?
 
The fiscal responsibilities of your group are a critical component of operations. Attend this webinar to learn the basics of planning your budgets and discover how your goals shape your current and future budgets.  It is recommended to review the webcast prior to beginning the Plan developing honor society's initial budget task.

Programming for Members

Programming is one of the many benefits that an honor society and chapter will offer to its membership.  Attend this 60 minute webinar to discover the tips and resources to begin engaging your members through creative programming. It is recommended to review the webcast prior to beginning the Determine developing honor society and chapter benefits for members task.

During this 60-90 minute interactive presentation, you will learn how to successfully complete a Chapter Charter Application to start a new chapter.

What to Expect After Application Submission: Beginning the Chartering Ceremony Planning Process
 
This 45-60 minute presentation will assist in the fine details of what to expect pending application approval and subsequently planning for your official chartering ceremony.  It is recommended to review this webcast after submission of your Chapter Charter Application.
 
Recommended board members to attend: President, Treasurer, Counselor and Induction Ceremony committee (optional)

Sessions for Schools Joining an Existing Charter (Amendments)

 

The following training sessions are specifically for schools of nursing that would like to join an established chapter and/or chapter officers that would like to pursue the charter amendment process to add a school of nursing and become an at-Large chapter. for chapters adding a new school to their existing charter / schools joining an existing chapter
 
During this 60-90 minute interactive presentation, you will learn how to successfully complete a Charter Amendment Application to join an existing chapter.
