Chapter Philanthropy Resource Guide:
Voluntarily giving financial or human resources to promote the common good

The Foundation Board of Directors and Chapter Philanthropy Education Committee provide the Chapter Philanthropy Resource Guide to assist chapters in developing and implementing their own philanthropy plan. We believe that philanthropy, as defined above, is something that all chapters can achieve no matter their size. The beauty of philanthropy is that it can be designed to fit your community’s needs and your members’ capabilities. We invite you to use the online resource to instill or refresh the spirit of philanthropy in your chapter and its members.

Chapter Spirit of Philanthropy Award
The Chapter Spirit of Philanthropy Award is presented to chapters that contribute noteworthy amounts of time, talents, and funds to a project that advances STTI's mission to support the learning, knowledge, and professional development of nurses committed to making a difference in health worldwide.

Chapter Giving Circles
A giving circle is a group of individuals who come together to pool their charitable donations and collectively decide where to grant the money in order to make a more significant philanthropic impact.

The Delta Theta Chapter Giving Circle is an excellent example of success. Since it began in 2011, the giving circle has supported five members from India, Mexico, Pakistan, and the Philippines to attend the biennial convention or research congress. According to Delta Theta Chapter Governance Chair Brian D. Morr, “Individuals were motivated to participate in the Delta Theta Giving Circle when they discovered they would have a say in where and how the money would be used. In this case, the money will be used to help advance professional causes in relationships that existed in other countries.”

“It was a great learning experience to attend the 2011 Biennial
Convention as part of my learning journey. This conference
broadened my horizon of thinking by helping me learn international perspectives

-- Munira Amin (Rho Delta Chapter), Pakistan
