The Heritage Society recognizes donors at the following giving categories.
Virginia Henderson Fellows (VHF)
The VHF program is named for Virginia Avenel Henderson (1897-1996), considered the foremost American nurse of the 20th century and recognized internationally for her influence on nursing practice, education and research. Donors who make a cash gift of US $10,000 are recognized at this giving level.

Sigma Theta Tau Fellows (STTF)
To offer opportunities for continued philanthropic growth and giving, the foundation board established the Sigma Theta Tau Fellows program in November 2003. Donors who make a cash gift of US $20,000 are recognized at this giving level.

Billye Brown Fellows (BBF)
In appreciation of past honor society President Dr. Billye Brown’s efforts to support and sustain the organization’s future, the foundation created the Billye Brown Fellowship for individuals who register planned gifts (will, irrevocable life-insurance policy, trust, etc.) valued at US $50,000. Up to ten percent of the gift may be designated for one or more chapters

Philanthropic Caring Society (PCS)
In 2005 the Sigma Theta Tau International Foundation board created the Philanthropic Caring Society recognizing cash contributors of US $50,000. Gifts may be unrestricted or designated to support scholarship, leadership or the honor society’s future.

Pillar Society (PS)
Members of the Pillar Society are acknowledged for combined cumulative cash gifts and irrevocable planned gifts (at present value) totaling US $100,000 or more. This distinction also will be bestowed upon donors posthumously.
