The GNLA mentors nurses committed to transforming geriatric care. This leadership program will inspire, challenge and redefine you.
The GNLA is an 18-month mentored leadership development experience offered by STTI. The blended curriculum provides many methodologies for developing leadership knowledge and competence with a focus on:
- individual leadership development
- advancing nursing practice through leadership of an interprofessional team
- organizational scope of influence and impact on local, regional and national levels
____________
“My life’s passion is a commitment to the advancement of care that we give to our older population. Opportunities exist to create new models of care to better coordinate care and enhance communication. GNLA gave me the tools to do that.”
Jennifer Bright, Mainline Health, Riddle Hospital Division, GNLA fellow
____________
“I found the GNLA experience transformative for my nursing leadership development. The didactic and mentored experience was relevant, intensive and rewarding. I learned new skills in the areas of strategic engagement, leading inter-professional groups, developing health policy advocacy strategies and identifying solutions for challenging health care delivery issues. My leadership sphere of influence has grown both regionally and nationally. I highly recommend this experience for nurses interested in increasing organizational influence and advancing their skills to improve health care delivery for older adults.”
Amy Cotton MSN, GNP-BC, FNGNA President, National Gerontological Nursing Association
____________
Through the partnership between the Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International and The John A. Hartford Foundation, GNLA has become the premier leadership development opportunity for nurses dedicated to influencing policy and geriatric health outcomes. Fellows of GNLA become active participants in the national network of geriatric nursing leaders. This growing group of experts has begun a collective movement toward national influence in changing care for older adults.
