Sigma Theta Tau International, recognized by the Department of Public Information of the United Nations (U.N.) as an associated Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), is committed to supporting the U.N.'s work, including the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). MCHNLA directly supports Goal 4: Reduce child mortality and Goal 5: Improve maternal health.
Thanks largely to the partnership with Johnson & Johnson, the MCHNLA gives nurses and nurse midwives in North America and South Arica the opportunity to influence healh care, policy and outcomes for childbearing women and for children up to 5 years old.
Since 2009 it is estimated that:

4,063 interprofessional colleagues and
1,619 interprofessional students
