Who are the Mentors?
Mentors are honor society members who are successful writers, editors and/or publishers with expertise in research development. These volunteers will be matched by honor society staff to a mentee who has indicated similar professional or research interest.
Who are the Mentees?
Mentees are honor society members who have made a commitment to develop research abstract, proposal and/or grant writing skills.
The honor society will facilitate the initial contact for an online mentor/mentee relationship between volunteer expert authors/researchers (mentors) and program applicants (mentees). Regular contact between the mentor and mentee via e-mail is critical to the success of a mentor/mentee relationship, as well as setting and following a mutually agreed process for accomplishing the mentee’s goals and objectives.
On the application form, the prospective mentee will include a written professional goal and at least two measurable objectives. Applicants must also submit their curriculum vitae. Application forms can be emailed to AWMP@stti.iupui.edu.
Honor society staff selects a potential mentor by matching the mentor’s experience with the applicant’s request; and, then, forwards the mentee’s application to a mentor. When a mentor agrees to accept the mentee, the mentor will initiate contact with the mentee via email.
