- More than $440,000 has been contributed to
the honor societys research endowment fund since the No Annual Fee Sigma Theta Tau International Credit Card was introduced in 2001.
- More than $88,000 in research grants was awarded in 2007 — a 10 percent increase over 2006.
- Grants were awarded for studies in infant and maternal health, AIDS, geriatrics, health-promoting behaviors in immigrants, and the use of the human patient simulator for nursing students.
- Nearly 6,500 members carry the card.
