THE PRESIDENT'S message
Suzanne S. Prevost, PhD, RN, COI
The seasons are changing, and that signals back-to-school time for most of our chapters. Do you remember your first day of nursing school? Did you have a favorite faculty member? Today I am cognizant of the thousands of students in schools of nursing across the globe who are taking their first steps toward what we know will be a rewarding and challenging career. I also understand the flurry of activity required of the nurse faculty leaders guiding these young men and women into the profession we revere. Best wishes to all of you!
As a student and as a new nurse, I relied on the advice of a wonderful group of peers and mentors, all of whom seemed to have nuggets of wisdom to share to help me on my way. As president of the Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI), I’m pleased that our organization offers so many resources, services, and networking opportunities to nurses who are new to the profession.
