Poster Presentations
 
Note: These guidelines are only applicable to the convention being conducted in Indianapolis, Ind., USA, 31 October – 4 November 2009.

Poster Display Information

The honor society will supply the poster board for displaying your presentation.

  • Board color: White
  • Board format: Horizontal
  • Dimensions: 4 feet (height) by 6 feet (width) or 1.219 meters (height) by 1.829 meters (width)
  • No tables, electronics or audio/visual equipment are allowed in the poster viewing area.
  • Presenters should bring VELCRO to fasten the poster to the board.


Poster Viewing Times

NEW! All posters will be on display throughout the convention. 



Poster Setup/Take Down Times

  • Posters may be set up from 7:00 am (0700) – 8:00 am (0800) on Sunday, 1 November 2009.
  • Posters and all materials must be removed by 5:00 (1700) pm on Tuesday, 3 November.

Note: Materials not removed by this time will be discarded.


General Poster Recommendations

  • Be sure that your poster attracts attention, emphasizes important points, reads easily and stimulates interest.
  • Facts should be printed in single phrases or words.
  • Facts can be printed on separate sheets of paper according to major headings.
  • Define unfamiliar or complex terms as simply as possible.
  • Use pictorial or graphic illustrations to clarify and enhance a message.
  • Use typeface that is legible from 6 feet away.
  • Use a consistent font.
  • Use a minimal amount of punctuation.
  • View should be able to grasp the total message in five minutes.
