 Keynote Speakers 

President Suzanne Prevost
The 29th President of the Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International, Suzanne Prevost, PhD, RN, COI will deliver her state of the society address as the opening plenary presentation for the 42nd Biennial Convention. Dr. Prevost’s presidential call to action, Give Back to Move Forward, spotlights four key themes: creating your legacy; engaging in collaboration; responding to vulnerable populations; and embracing technology. Her opening address will emphasize how Dr. Prevost’s call has been put into action. Included as part of the presentation during the opening plenary, the Educational Assessment Nursing Research Grant will also be presented.

Betty Ferrell
Dr. Ferrell has been in oncology nursing for 35 years and has focused her clinical expertise and research in pain management, quality of life, and palliative care.  She is the Director of Nursing Research & Education and a Professor at the City of Hope Medical Center in Los Angeles. Dr. Ferrell has been named the 2013 recipient of the STTI Episteme Award. View the press release announcing her as the Episteme Laureate.

Tilda Shalof
Shalof has been a staff nurse in the Medical-Surgical Intensive Care Unit at Toronto General Hospital of the University Health Network, for the past twenty-four years. She is also the author of the bestseller, A Nurse’s Story and an outspoken patient advocate, passionate nurse leader, public speaker, and media commentator.
