General Information

Accessibility for People with Special Abilities: The indoor climate controlled skywalks make getting around downtown Indianapolis convenient in any weather condition. The Hyatt Regency Downtown has accessible rooms upon request.

Clothing Attire: Business casual clothing attire is appropriate. The weather outside will be warm, but temperatures may vary inside the hotel.  For this reason, we suggest wearing layers of clothing

Electricity: Plugs in the United States are the standard American style plugs with two parallel flat blades, sometimes positioned above a circular grounding pin that use a 120-volt current (60 Hz frequency). For a picture, click here. 

Language: English is the official language of the Leadership Academy.  

Shopping: The Hyatt Regency Downtown is connected by a climate controlled skywalk to the Circle Center Mall. Visit the mall’s website for more information. 

Smoking Policy: Leadership Academy is a smoke-free event. Check with the hotel to find the nearest designated smoking area.

Tipping: Although there are no fixed rules on tipping, it is customary to add an extra 15-20% to restaurant bills. Please note, for larger groups of people, a service charge or gratuity may already be added to your bill so always check the receipt. It is also customary to tip hotel bellman/porters, taxi drivers, housekeepers and doormen. For more information on tipping, click here.

Time Zones: Central Indiana is on Eastern Standard Time (EST) and observes Daylight Saving Time. Daylight Saving Time begins at 2 a.m. the second Sunday in March, when clocks are advanced one hour, and ends at 2 a.m. the first Sunday in November, when clocks are turned back one hour. Weather: In September, the average high temperature is 77°F (25°C) and the average low temperature is 55°F (13°C).
