Creating and Sharing Knowledge Resources

Suggestions on how members and chapters can create and share knowledge resources.

 

  

Members

  • Join an existing honor society Community of Interest or form a new one.

  • Become a peer reviewer for honor society research, abstracts, proposals, Journal of Nursing Scholarship or Worldviews on Evidence-Based Nursing articles.

  • Write an online continuing nursing education module or serve as a beta tester.

  • Apply for a Sigma Theta Tau International Research grant or scholarship.  

  • Present your clinical innovation, research or knowledge work in a global forum or conference.

  • Complete a mentorship program for writing research grants and give professional presentations.

  • Submit a research abstract you have completed to the Registry of Nursing Research Database.

  • Submit an article for publication in an honor society journal: Journal of Nursing Scholarship, Reflections on Nursing Leadership, Worldviews on Evidence-Based Nursing or another peer-reviewed journal.

Chapters

  • Jointly fund scholarships and grants with local professional societies.

  • Contribute educational faculty/student exchanges and knowledge experts to the honor society’s International Academic Nursing Alliance.

  • Support nursing research by making a gift to the foundation.

  • Plan and offer an annual or biennial program with other chapters or hospitals that focuses on nursing research, best practices or clinical innovations.

  • Establish e-forums or a journal club for members to share their personal stories of how they used knowledge resources to improve their nursing practice.

  • Identify Evidence-Based Nursing (EBN) resources available to members through the honor society or other organizations.

  • Give a chapter award for excellence in evidence-based practice.
