2007-2009 Biennium Letter from the President
Members and chapters:
Let’s Make it Real!
Successfully implementing Leading Globally will take all of us!
Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International members are known for visionary, innovative and progressive thinking. As the organization continues to grow, we are dedicated to: using knowledge, leadership and service to improve the health of the world’s people and meeting the needs of all nurse leader generations.
We realize success by continuing to lead for the future and being proactive about change during this biennium.
Leading Globally, the presidential call to action for the new biennium, builds upon the 2005 Strategic Directions and Vision 2020, a new strategic planning initiative adopted by the honor society. These documents represent the best thinking of this organization. They embrace the honor society’s position as a global thought leader in nursing knowledge, leadership, practice and service in the 21st century.
Leading Globally includes four key themes:
• Creating and sharing knowledge resources
• Being “intentionally global”
• Developing career-spanning leadership skills
• Providing service
I hope you will find the member and chapter suggestions in this brochure helpful in implementing Leading Globally.
