Dear STTI Members,

The International Board of Directors met on 26 March 2013 for a video conference to conduct the business of the society.
The following reflects the decisions made, direction setting undertaken, and the information that was shared.
The Board approved the minutes of the 7-9 February 2013 Board of Directors video conference as submitted, with corrections to the 8 February minutes.
Terrance Barkan, of GLOBALSTRAT, is a global consultant who provided expertise on global growth strategies for international organizations to the Board of Directors for consideration about the future direction of the Society on 7 February 2013. The Board reviewed the guiding principles that resulted from this meeting, and will continue discussion at the June 2013 Board meeting.
The STTI Mission and Vision statements are under consideration for revision and further discussion will continue at the June 2013 Board meeting.
The Board approved metrics for the South Africa Pilot Project.
The Board approved the recommendations of the Resolutions Committee that the Resolutions Committee become an ongoing Resolutions Advisory Council, beginning with the next biennium 2013-2015, chaired by the elected Secretary of STTI, with members appointed by the President with the approval of the Board.
The Board approved the recommendations from the Resolutions Committee for a process and guidelines for crafting society resolutions. The Resolutions Advisory Council will be charged with announcing deadlines for submission of resolutions, receiving resolutions, consulting with proposers, reporting to the Board, and presenting to the House of Delegates recommendations for action according to the most recent edition of Roberts Rules of Order, newly revised. Registration is open for the 2013 International Research Congress in the Czech Republic on 22-26 July.
