Dr. Hulsey is dean and E. Jane Martin professor of the West Virginia University School of Nursing. Dr. Hulsey's practice and research specialty is perinatal nursing, and she has served as a curriculum consultant in the U.S. and China. She has held numerous leadership roles at the local, state, national, and international levels; including chair of the United Nations and Global Health Advisory Council for STTI and a governor-appointed member of the South Carolina Board of Nursing. Currently, she serves as president of the West Virginia Board of Professional Nurses. Hulsey has secured more than US $2 million in grant funding and was principal investigator as one of the 15 pilot schools in the country for the Quality and Safety Education in Nursing (QSEN) initiative. She is a Robert Wood Johnson Executive Nurse Fellow Alumnus and an AACN Wharton Fellow.
