The Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International

The submission deadline has passed.

Thank you to all those who submitted. Notifications will be sent to authors by mid-March 2017.

Creative Arts in Nursing explores nurses’ creative sides through expressive and creative artwork, such as poetry, music, art, drama, dance, photography, quilting, etc., that symbolizes an aesthetic expression. Selected submissions will be showcased as poster presentations at the 44th Biennial Convention.

Abstracts invited in the following categories:

  • Written
  • Visual
  • Performance

Regardless of category, all accepted abstracts will be poster presentations. The abstract should explain the context of the artwork (e.g., what led to the creation of the art, how and when the art was created, and what impact the art has on others).

The actual artwork (poem, photo, video, etc.) should be in a file that you can upload into the online submission system, NOT in the abstract.

Presentation options include the following:

  • Poster Presentations:

    • Individual abstract (20-minute presentation)
      • A traditional poster session is a single abstract presentation of research or evidence-based information by an individual or representatives of research teams with an academic or professional focus. The work is peer-reviewed and presented on a large, usually printed placard, bill, or announcement, often illustrated, that is posted to publicize. It can also be a visual display of completed or in-progress work.
