Edith H. Anderson, RN, PhD, FAAN, former dean of nursing at the University of Delaware and the University of Hawaii, generously provided for the honor society in her will. While at the University of Hawaii, Dr. Anderson displayed her concern for the delivery of health care worldwide, coordinating field-training programs in Taiwan, Ryukyu Islands and American Samoa. In keeping with Dr. Anderson’s request that her gift be dedicated to helping nursing students throughout the world, a portion of her bequest is being applied to assist students and members in need.
Sigma Theta Tau International will provide up to USD $500 for registration fees and travel expenses associated with attending the 19th International Nursing Research Congress Focusing on Evidence-Based Practice, 7-11 July 2008 in Singapore. To be eligible for this Leadership Education Grant you must (1) be an active member of Sigma Theta Tau International; (2) find it difficult if not impossible to attend the research congress without financial support, and (3) file a written report about how attending the research congress will benefit your studies, with expense documentation, within 30 days of the conclusion of the research congress. If applicable, priority for at least one of the grants will be given to members living in middle and low-income countries, according to World Bank country classifications by gross national income.

Leadership Education Grant Application
Dr. Lillian DeYoung Fund

Delta Omega Chapter has made an annual contribution to Sigma Theta Tau International Foundation for Nursing’s leadership endowment in honor of its founding advisor Dr. Lillian DeYoung. The donation is designed to provide financial assistance to a Delta Omega or Region 10 member whose abstract has been accepted for presentation at the 19th International Research Congress.
On behalf of the Delta Omega Chapter, Sigma Theta Tau International Foundation will provide one Dr. Lillian DeYoung Leadership Education Grant at USD $400 for registration fees and travel expenses associated with attending the 19th International Nursing Research Congress. To be eligible for the Dr. Lillian DeYoung Leadership Education Grant you must (1) be an active member of Sigma Theta Tau International Delta Omega Chapter (preferred) or of another chapter in Region 10 and (2) find it difficult if not impossible to attend the 19th International Research Congress without financial support.This grant is made possible by gifts to The Sigma Theta Tau Foundation for Nursing.

Nursing Student Scholarship

Mead Johnson Nutritionals has made possible two scholarships for US based nursing student to attend the 19th International Nursing Congress Focusing on Evidence-Based Practice, 7-11 July 2008. To be eligible for this scholarship you must be (1) a nursing student currently enrolled in a US based nursing school, (2) find it difficult if not impossible to attend the Research Congress without financial support and (3) file a written report about how attending the research congress will benefit your studies, with expense documentation, within 30 days of the conclusion of the research congress. The scholarship will provide up to $1,000 USD for registration fees and travel expenses associated with attending the 19th International Nursing Research Congress. Application deadline is 21 April 2008.
