Learner Objectives

  • The learner will be able to identify sources of information on simulation and technology in nursing;
  • The learner will be able to develop knowledge about what is currently available in simulation and technology in nursing;
  • The learner will be able to identify the role of nurse leaders in promotion and integration of simulation and technology into practice and education settings; and,
  • The learner will be able to describe gaps in research on simulation and technology in nursing

Overview

A special one and one-half day interactive educational workshop will explore current trends in nursing simulation and technology. Participants will identify the role nurse leaders play in simulation and technology integration in practice and education settings. Congress keynoter and world-renowned simulation expert Dr. Anthony Gallagher, Royal College of Nursing, Ireland, will open the workshop with a presentation on where simulation is today and where it is going in the future. The workshop will be followed by one or more "centers of excellence in simulation" facility tours.
