Clothing Attire: Business casual attire is appropriate. The weather will be very warm, but temperatures may vary inside the Convention Centre. Wearing layers of clothing is recommended.

Electricity/Voltage: Standard voltage in Singapore is 220-240 volts AC. Some hotels are equipped with 110-120 volt outlets. Please check with your hotel for details.

Inoculations: No inoculations are required unless arriving from a country where disease is partly/wholly endemic.

Language: The national language of Singapore is Malay, but English is the language of administration and commerce. Tamil and Chinese are also official languages. Most of the population is bilingual. English is the official language of the congress.

Shopping: Singapore is a duty-free port. Department stores and shops are usually open from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. daily. The famous Orchard Road features numerous malls that sell clothes, shoes, electronics goods, furniture, rugs, cosmetics and more.

Smoking Policy: Singapore, smoking is not allowed in public areas and is only allowed in designated areas. The congress event will remain totally smoke-free.

Taxes: Singapore includes a 3% government tax and a 3% goods and services tax on all merchandise purchased.

Time Zones: Singapore Time Standard Time is 12 hours ahead of Eastern Daylight Time. Singapore does not observe Daylight Savings Time.

Tipping: Tipping is prohibited at the airport and is at your discretion at hotels. Restaurants include a 10% service charge to your bill.

Weather: Singapore’s tropical climate offers visitors’ unlimited opportunities to experience a relaxing outdoor vacation all year-round. Average temperature: 75ºF to 88ºF (24ºC to 31ºC).
